A dog's yearly jab
From S$48 to S$89 across 11 clinics, with the middle at S$65. 5 clinics say the price includes the check-up; 2 list the vaccine and the check separately, so we added them up.
Girls cost more
At all 9 clinics that price both, spaying a female cat costs more than castrating a male: from 3% more to 98% more. Each price counts as listed: a "from" price or a range at its low end, with GST added by us where a clinic leaves it out. It's a bigger operation.
Keyhole surgery, for a price
Amber Vet lists cat castration by open surgery at S$590 – S$690 and by keyhole (laparoscopic) surgery at S$1,640 – S$1,740, subject to the vet's assessment.
After dark, the bill jumps
Night, public holiday and emergency consultations run from S$63.22 to S$272.50 at the clinics that publish them: 1.2 to 5.2 times the middle standard consultation (S$51.99). Each price is worked out with GST added by us where a clinic leaves it out, and the middle counts a range or "from" price at its low end.
Mind the GST
3 clinics (Canopy, My Family Vet and Passion) list some prices before GST. We added 9% so every figure is what you pay at the counter.
Most vets keep quiet
Only 11 of the 62 clinic websites we read publish a usable price list. The rest ask you to call, or list no prices at all.

The ladder at the top lines up every business from cheapest to priciest. Below it are the standout findings, how prices spread out, and the details that matter before you book or buy. We compare prices that are comparable enough, not identical, and “The boring bit” says exactly where we drew the line.
The boring bit
What we compared
Five everyday vet services that at least five clinics price on their own websites: a standard consultation in clinic hours, a dog's yearly core vaccination with the check-up it needs, castrating a male cat, spaying a female cat, and a microchip. We chose them after reading every clinic's full price list, by counting how many clinics publish each service. Dog sterilisation and dental scaling are priced by weight bands that differ from clinic to clinic, so they're in the big table, not ranked.
There is no dot plot here: each business publishes one price for this item, so the ladders above already show every price.
Comparable enough, not identical
- Where a vaccination price doesn't include the check-up, we added the clinic's own check-up or consultation fee (Canopy, My Family Vet), and say so.
- A range for one service is ranked at its low end, and a "from" price at its "from" figure; both are drawn striped.
- GST: we rank what you pay at the counter. Where a clinic says its prices are before GST we added 9%; where the page says nothing, we used the price as listed.
- Sterilisation is open surgery. Amber Vet also lists keyhole surgery, which isn't ranked.
- Member prices (SingVet's CareClub) and emergency fees aren't ranked; emergency fees have their own table.
What isn't compared, and why
- Medicines, blood tests, X-rays and hospital stays: they depend on the pet and are quoted after the visit.
- Barkway Pet Health's sterilisation "starts from S$220" for dogs and cats together, so it can't be placed on a cat ladder.
- SPCA's clinic sterilises community (stray) cats for free, or S$25 outside HDB estates, under its programme with AVS. That isn't a price for a pet cat.
- Mount Pleasant, Spring Veterinary Care, Pets Avenue and Westside Emergency publish only after-hours or emergency fees, shown in their own table.
Where the list comes from
We started from the Animal & Veterinary Service's register of licensed vet centres (updated 24 July 2026), which lists 125 clinic premises. Grouped by business, that is 87 vet businesses (leaving out an online pet pharmacy and the horse clinic at the Turf Club). We found websites for 62 of them and read every one; 11 publish a usable price list. 25 have no website we could find. Four sites couldn't be read by our reader (a security check page, a refused connection or a site error), and are named in the list below.
This is a count of published prices, not a survey of every vet in Singapore. Most clinics don't publish prices, and the ones that do may differ from the ones that don't. Every figure here is "among clinics that publish prices".
Every ranked clinic is on the AVS licence register, so each was licensed to trade when we checked. Clinics that publish no prices weren't phoned or messaged: we only use what a clinic puts on its own website.
Dates and checks
Every price was read from the clinic's own website on 26 Sep 2026, and each ranked figure was matched word for word against our saved copy of the page. Because every page was read the same day, the usual second read of the highest and lowest prices on publishing day was not needed. Page dates, where a page shows one, are in the small-print table. Care Veterinary Clinic's page says its prices are for reference only.
Items per clinic: 84 prices from 11 clinics (a middle of 8 each), spread across nine different services. That is too few per service for a price-spread chart beyond the ladders, so the page has a "who's cheaper?" game (104 rounds) instead.
