The short version

How much does an electrician cost in Singapore? From S$20 to S$90 to replace a power socket, across 10 businesses.

Electrician prices in Singapore: replacing a power socket starts from S$20 to S$90 (middle S$55), installing a ceiling fan from S$50 to S$150 (middle S$80), a ceiling light from S$15 to S$120, a light switch from S$20 to S$90 and a power trip repair from S$50 to S$87.20, across 12 businesses that publish prices (one of them a platform, StringsSG), verified 28 Sep 2026.

How much does an electrician cost in Singapore?

Among electricians that publish a price list, replacing a power socket in Singapore starts at S$20 to S$90, and the middle price is S$55. Most electrician price lists in Singapore give "from" prices, and 4 of the 12 list a transport fee of S$40 to S$80 on top, so the final bill depends on the job and the visit.

What is the cheapest electrician in Singapore? For a socket, Mr Electrician lists S$20; its S$80 transport fee for non-repair works may apply, which would make it up to S$100. Counting the transport fee each page states, StringsSG (S$64.40, no separate fee) and AVV Electricals (from S$70 with transport) come out lowest. For a light switch, AVV Electricals from S$20; for a ceiling light, AVV Electricals at S$15 in labour.

How much is ceiling fan installation in Singapore? Fitting a ceiling fan starts from S$50 to S$150 among the 9 businesses that list it (middle S$80); a new wiring point costs more.

How much does a power trip repair cost? From S$50 to S$87.20 in office hours among the 6 businesses that list it; nights and weekends cost more.

This page covers the 11 electricians and handyman firms, and one platform (StringsSG), in Singapore that publish a comparable price, including Everyworks, Repair.sg, Electrician24, Mr Electrician, MM Engineering Works and Trust Electricians, out of 52 websites we read. Every price was read from the business's own website on 28 Sep 2026. On the ladders, a solid bar is one published price and a striped bar is a "from" price or the low end of a range.

This comparison covers 12 businesses ranked, 52 websites read. Every price comes from the business's own website, read and dated, and the comparison was last verified on 28 Sep 2026. No business pays to be included or to rank.

The ladder at the top lines up every business from cheapest to priciest. Below it are the standout findings, how prices spread out, and the details that matter before you book or buy. We compare prices that are comparable enough, not identical, and “The boring bit” says exactly where we drew the line.

The boring bit

What we compared

The five jobs electricians most often price on their own websites: replacing a power socket, installing a ceiling fan, installing a ceiling light, replacing a light switch, and fixing a power trip in office hours. Each ladder ranks the business's own listed price for one unit; "per additional unit" prices aren't ranked.

  • Ceiling fan: the line has to name a ceiling fan (AVV Electricals' "Fan Installation" doesn't, so it isn't ranked). A new wiring point is priced separately and isn't compared. Where a page doesn't say whether the point already exists, we rank its plain installation line and say so in the small print.
  • Ceiling light: the business's line for a ceiling light, or where it has none, its general light line ("Replace / Install Light", "Light Installation", "Replace Single Light Point", "Light Fixture", "LED light"). Downlights, bulbs, pendant and chandelier lights, and lines that include supplying the light are left out, for every business.
  • Where one line prices a socket or a switch (MM Engineering Works, StringsSG), it is that business's price in both ladders.

Comparable enough, not identical

  • Most businesses list a "from" price: the least the job costs. A "from" price is drawn striped and is never called typical.
  • Where a business lists both, we rank its cheapest line for the job: replacing an existing ceiling fan (Electrician24, Trust Electricians) or fitting a new one on an existing point.
  • Transport: Mr Electrician (for non-repair works), Repair.sg, AVV Electricals and Lito Electrical add a transport fee, tagged "Plus transport" and never added to the ladder. Everyworks and 81 Electrical say their prices include transport, Trust Electricians says travel is free, and StringsSG says there are no hidden fees. Fixitpapa lists a checking or transport fee on some of its pages, and MM Engineering Works itemises transport in its quotes.
  • GST: Trust Electricians says its prices are before GST, so we added 9% (tagged "GST added by us"); it also says parts are extra. Its table heading is "Typical Price (SGD)", but the page says every rate is what it actually charges, so we rank it as its own price list. Electrician24 says its prices include GST, and Everyworks says its prices are quoted nett. The others don't mention GST beside these prices, so their prices are used as listed.
  • Night, weekend and emergency rates are extra and aren't compared.

Platforms

One rule for every platform: where a platform sets its own fixed price and takes the payment itself, we rank it like any business, as we do for home cleaning. StringsSG does both (its price list says "Fixed prices per job", and customers pay through their StringsSG account), so it is ranked. It is a platform, not a single electrician: its own page says "Every electrician is assigned through the platform", so the ladders tag it "Platform". Everyworks does the work with its own team and is ranked. A platform or guide whose price bands belong to other businesses is never used.

What isn't compared, and why

  • New power points, rewiring and DB box replacement: prices depend on wiring runs and flat or board size, and don't line up.
  • Downlights: priced per point and often part of a false-ceiling job, so they aren't compared with a ceiling light.
  • Price guides that describe the market rather than the business's own prices (MM Engineering Works' price guide and blog pages, Yong Jin Electrical, Emergency Electrician SG, Luminous Engineering's blog, and platforms such as FixMove and Homejourney): never used. MM Engineering Works is ranked from its own service pages instead.
  • Fan and lighting shops that install only what they sell (Sembawang Lighting House): a different service.

Where the list comes from

EMA licenses electrical workers, but its register is a lookup tool, not a list we can download, so we built the list from guides (for names and website links only) and searches: 52 websites read. 12 publish a price we could compare. We stopped when a round of new searches found no new business with prices.

This is a count of published prices, not a survey of every electrician in Singapore. Every figure here is "among electricians that publish prices". Many electricians quote only by WhatsApp or after a visit.

Where websites share a phone number, we count them as one business, ranked at its cheapest listed price for each job across its sites: Everyworks, Daylight Electrician, A1 Handyman and Mr Plumber Singapore (the same WhatsApp number; Everyworks and A1 Handyman list the same address); Repair.sg and Repairs.sg; Get Electrician and Get Handyman. Everyworks' ceiling fan price comes from Daylight Electrician's page.

Dates and checks

Every price was read from the business's own website on 28 Sep 2026, and each figure and the table heading it depends on was matched word for word against our saved copy of the page. A page whose own date is more than two years old is held, even where the post around the list carries a newer date. Where a business's own pages disagree and neither is dated, the price is held. Because every page was read the same day, the usual second read of the highest and lowest prices on publishing day was not needed. Businesses were not phoned or messaged.

Prices per business: in every lane the middle business lists one fitting price, so a price-spread chart would only repeat the ladders and there is none. Almost every price here is a "from" price or leaves out a transport fee, too few fixed prices for a plain "who's cheaper?" game, so the game below (82 rounds) mostly mixes in guess-the-price and who-offers-this questions from the ladders instead.
