Methodology, caveats and what we left out. Everything above rests on this.

There is no dot plot here: each business publishes one price for this item, so the ladders above already show every price.

Coverage

22 businesses with a usable price in at least one lane, out of at least 48 we found in Singapore. That 48 is our own count from searching, a floor and not an official figure. We read the own price pages of 41 of them; the other 7 were found but haven't been read (all are Carousell-only listings or a booking platform with no own site, listed below). A business counts once, not once per branch. Twelve businesses publish a usable price in all three lanes.

When we stopped

Discovery stopped on 22 Sep 2026 after a batch of leads (drawn from a 2022 directory) produced only one clean new price, and a follow-up run through the rest of the lead backlog resolved all but a handful of Carousell-only listings and one platform. The remaining leads are listed in the directory below, so the report can be extended later.

Last verified

22 Sep 2026. Every price was read from the business's own website or price list on or before that date. Several were read from screenshots the owner took by hand, or via a browser agent (Claude in Chrome) for pages our own tools couldn't reach (blocked sites, or price tables shown as images); both are saved as evidence and noted in the small print. This report says "read from each business's own page," not "checked by hand," because a person has not yet re-checked every ranked price against its saved source; that pass, and a live re-read of the highest and lowest price in each lane, happens on the day of publishing.

What "comparable enough" means here

We compare prices that are comparable enough for a fair reading, not strictly identical. The standard item is one visit, one-off (not a plan), 3 wall-mounted split units, residential (HDB, condo or landed), in three lanes that are never mixed on one ladder: general servicing, chemical wash, chemical overhaul. Small differences are taken at face value, and the same rule is applied to every business. The line was drawn here:

• Where a business prices by BTU size rather than a flat rate, the smaller residential band (up to 12,000 BTU where stated) is used, and a larger-unit surcharge is noted rather than baked into the ladder.
• A price labelled “Promo” or “limited offer” with no end date, code or condition shown is treated as the standing price a customer would actually pay today, and tagged; a “usual” or “regular” price shown beside it is an anchor, not the ladder figure. This is provisional and affects two businesses (see the fact cards).
• A “from” price with no unit-count table behind it is a floor, not a real quote, and isn't ranked (Sureclean, SJR Aircon, City Cooling).
• A price this report couldn't reasonably reach at all — GST-only speculation, or a rate with no stated structure — was worked out (derived) from what the page does state, and flagged as derived rather than published.
• GST is shown as each business states it. eight of the twenty-one general-servicing prices state a clear GST position; the rest say nothing, so a figure may or may not already include it. This is the biggest limit on how closely the prices compare.
• A page that looks out of date isn't ranked until a current price is confirmed: AirMaXX Aircon, AireControl, Airever Air-con Engineering, CitiCool, Infinity Air, Jiaxing Aircon, Silverback Air-con.
• Booking or dispatch platforms and marketplace resellers are listed but never ranked, because the price isn't the platform's own: COURTS, Helpling, StringsSG.

What isn't compared, and why

• Plans, contracts and “usual price” anchors. A yearly or quarterly plan isn't what a one-off customer pays, so it's never ranked or divided into a per-visit price. Shown in the deals table above.
• Range and “from” prices with no unit-count table (3 businesses). Sureclean, SJR Aircon and City Cooling publish only a per-unit range or floor with nothing tying it to a specific unit count.
• Quote-only prices. FixMove's figures are explicitly indicative, confirmed only after the unit is reviewed; Gain City's chemical wash has no fixed price.
• No comparable offering at all. Panasonic, Daikin and Mitsubishi were confirmed to have no general-servicing, chemical-wash or chemical-overhaul product; they sell or service only through dealers, or their own “service charges” page covers repair and evaluation, not cleaning.
• Commercial, cassette, ducted and larger-BTU pricing. Out of scope by the standard item defined above.
• Prices shown only elsewhere. Third-party guides, directories and Carousell listings aren't used, because they aren't the business's own price list and they go stale.

Where the prices come from

Every price is published by the business itself, on its own site or price list. Where a business's own pages disagree with each other, both figures are shown and the business is left unranked until a dated page or the business itself settles it (this happened once, with Silverback Air-con). Each business name links to the page we read.
